The Client
Keep Austin Beautiful is a cornerstone of environmental stewardship in Austin.
In late 2024, they partnered with Blackhawk to revitalize their online presence. Their existing website, while serving its purpose, lacked the modern design and user-friendly experience necessary to effectively engage volunteers, donors, and the broader Austin community.
Our mission was to create a dynamic, accessible, and informative website that would amplify Keep Austin Beautiful’s message and drive greater participation in their vital programs.
The Challenge
Keep Austin Beautiful’s previous website suffered from several critical issues. Its outdated design and lack of mobile responsiveness created a frustrating user experience, particularly for the growing number of visitors accessing the site on mobile devices and tablets.
Content management was cumbersome, hindering their ability to quickly update information about events and initiatives.
The Keep Austin Beautiful organization runs thousands of volunteer events per year, and they were also looking for a team of development and design experts to create an interactive volunteer opportunity map that could be integrated directly into the site.

The Solution
Blackhawk implemented a comprehensive redesign, focusing on a clean, modern aesthetic and intuitive navigation. We developed a fully responsive website, ensuring seamless functionality across all devices. We utilized the WordPress CMS, empowering Keep Austin Beautiful to easily manage and update their content.
The user experience was streamlined to make it easy for visitors to find information about volunteer opportunities, donation options, and upcoming events. We also implemented new donation and volunteer forms, to improve user experience and increase the amount of conversions.
