A native of Riebeek Kasteel in South Africa, Rick (he / him) has been fortunate enough to explore both sides of the pond. After immigrating to the U.S. with his family, Rick attended Hampden Sydney College in Virginia, where he received a BA in Economics. On the weekends, you will find Rick biking around Boise or getting humbled in the local bouldering gym or trout stream.
When Rick joined the Blackhawk team in 2020, he brought with him several years of web development and project management experience – he quickly translated these skills to our clients and has been providing exceptional services ever since. Currently, he works as the Web Operations Manager, overseeing all of our Web Development, Web Maintenance, Web Support, and Technical SEO projects. He prides himself in always being available to help out a team member with any questions, transfer knowledge about the latest updates in the web space, and hop on a client call to troubleshoot a web issue at a moment’s notice.
Rick is the ultimate practitioner for anything related to website development. Not only is he proficient in multiple coding languages, if you need anything updated on a website – he is an excellent person to work with. In addition, Rick is an innate problem solver and provides very detailed analysis when it comes to explaining the functionality behind technology.
Rick is exactly who you want on your team. He is very knowledgeable and will work hard to solve any issue that may come up. He has taught me and the whole web team so much, and is always willing to pass on knowledge. As much as he has on his plate, he will always take the time to help the team look into something or stop and teach us something new!
