What does an SEO audit look at?

There are three main components of a Blackhawk SEO audit:

An SEO audit analyzes all aspects of a website’s SEO, helping our team of marketing experts draw conclusions with regards to optimization opportunities. Let’s take a closer look at some of the main factors we take into account.

Technical SEO.

The main purpose of auditing technical SEO is to get a report on your website’s speed and functionality.

Page and web speed.

We use two different speed measurement tools to gain a full understanding of how your website performs across platforms such as on mobile devices and desktop computers.

This also helps us understand what is slowing your website down. This can be anything from unused JavaScript and / or CSS, redirections, image sizes and dimensions, video file sizes, your hosting provider, and more.

Core Web Vitals.

See how your website performs against Google’s Core Web Vitals algorithm. These metrics are always changing – our audit platforms allow us to see exactly what metrics need to be configured first to give your website the biggest SEO boost.

Sitemap & indexing.

When a website is published to the web, it is imperative that it is properly indexed by Google – this ensures that the site will show up in search results.

In addition to confirming indexing, our SEO audit will show us if there are any error codes preventing specific pages from appearing in Google (i.e. 404 errors).

Site security.

In order to be considered a “safe” website by Google, your site must have an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate. Your website’s level of security can also be determined by your hosting provider.

Mobile-friendliness.

Tag & Pixel installation.

On-site SEO.

Content SEO.

Keyword research & rankings.

Word count.
